Claudio Magris this time?
Hello again, when I'm writing this there are only 18 minutes left until Peter Englund will tell us who will win the Nobel Prize in 2009. I guess and I hope it will be Claudio Magris from Italy. Probably I'm wrong. Many times I have not even heard of the person who gets the prize. This morning I heard on Swedish radio that yesterday many people started to bet on Herta Müller. If she gets the prize I will suspect that there are leaks also this year, like last year and that would be terrible. I remember last year when I heard Horace Engdahl on the radio talking about him knowing who was leaking information. He wasn't too happy. The people on Swedish national radio who work with these issues have made a list of those they think it might be. These are: Amos Oz, Herta Müller, Joyce Carol Oates, Philip Roth, Thomas Pynchon, Assia Djebar, Adonis, Haruki Murakami, Tomas Tranströmer and Mario Vargas Llosa. Their favourites are Philip Roth, Herta Müller, Amos Oz, Joyce Carol Oates, Péter Nádas, Jon Fosse, Richard Ford and John Ashbery. OK, now there are only a few minutes left and I publish this now.
